Riding lessons for new and experienced riders, children and adults, your horse or ours!
Fish Bowl’s school horses are well trained for riders’ confidence and fun. Horses are suitable for riders up to 160 lbs. Riders start with private lessons, and progress to small groups of 2-4 riders. Lessons are one hour in duration, including learning to groom and tack up, and at least 30 minutes in the saddle. Riding boots and equestrian helmet required. Kids are usually ready to start riding when they are 6-8 years old. Most riders start with one or two lessons each week, adding a group lesson when they are ready. Riders start on our school horses and many eventually buy a horse of their own. Emily has assisted a dozen riders find their horses and helped forge strong partnerships throughout ownership.
Instructor Emily Wigley is certified Level II in dressage and stable management by the American Riding Instructors’ Association (ARIA), and teaches dressage, jumping, recreational riding and stable management. Lessons on Fish Bowl horses is in English tack. Ride western on your horse? That’s great – Emily teaches people how to ride horses, not saddles, so any style is welcome.
